Ofsted has a duty to register new providers and inspect them within 30 months of their registration.
Following your first inspection, Ofsted will aim to complete inspections on a 4 to 6 year cycle for providers that have attained a grade of 'Good' or 'Outstanding'.
For those with a grade of 'Requires Improvement', Ofsted will aim to reinspect within 1 year.
For those with a grade of 'Inadequate', Ofsted will aim to reinspect within 6 months.
If no children are on roll at the time of inspection, then Ofsted can only judge whether providers meet or do not meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
