One of the aims of the 2020-24 SEND and Inclusion strategy was to improve and expand the offer of social and leisure activities for children and young people with SEND up to the age of 25. This year we are offering £15,000 in development funding to support local organisations to help meet that aim. We are focusing particularly on children under 5 and aged 14-25.
We are offering grants of up to £2,000 for organisations who would like to, for example:
- Pilot a new activity specifically for young children and young people with SEND
- Buy resources that will allow you to adapt an existing activity specifically for young children and young people with SEND
- Commission training for staff to help them support young children and young people with SEND
This is only a few suggestions. We are open to any ideas that will lead to improvements in the range of activities available.
NB: You do not have to be currently working with the target group in order to apply for funding.
