Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), also known as video Public Space Surveillance (PSS), is used across the borough, in our town centres, public spaces, and housing estates, to assist in preventing and detecting street crimes such as assaults, vehicle thefts, and drug-related offences.

Lambeth Council have a legal duty to ensure images are not disclosed unlawfully under the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.

For this reason, this online CCTV footage request service is only available to solicitors, insurers, or other agents requesting recorded images on behalf of a client for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes (i.e. assist an insurers investigation into a road traffic incident involving their policyholder's vehicle).

GDPR applies to any organisation that processes, collects, stores or uses information about an identifiable person. 

Organisations should ensure compliance with the GDPR, when handling data supplied by Lambeth Council you must follow the Data Protection Principles.

Please note that footage requests will not be processed if you do not meet the criteria above. 

If payment is made to request footage, a refund will not be issued if you do not meet the criteria. It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet the criteria prior to submitting your request.
