Term time only backpay frequently asked questions

The following question and answer sheet is to be used as a guide for dealing with term time only support staff pay queries. 

When will I be paid the amount on my COT3?

If Lambeth Council receives a staff member’s correctly signed and formatted COT3 prior to the 1st of a month then that staff member will be paid out in the next month's payroll.

For example, if Lambeth Council received Fred Bloggs’ correctly signed and formatted COT3 between 1 May and 31 May then because it has been received prior to 1 June 2021, it can be paid out in June payroll.

Fred Bloggs will be paid out in June payroll alongside his normal pay which for Lambeth Council is the 15th of each month unless the 15th falls on a weekend in which case it will be the Friday before.

If Lambeth Council received Fred Bloggs’ correctly signed and formatted COT3 between 1 June and 30 June then because it has been received prior to 1 July 2021, it can be paid out in July payroll.

For those schools with external payroll providers the circumstances will differ depending on each payroll provider.

For those who were Lambeth payroll for the TTO period (1 January 2015 – 31 March 2020) but their school is now with an external payroll provider your current payroll provider will pay them unless you are an historic leaver (i.e. did not leave within the last few months) in which case Lambeth payroll will pay it. 

For leaver staff, Lambeth payroll will need to put you back on the payroll system which is why we have asked that you send in a Leaver’s form with your bank details.
