How do I calculate my claim?

Please see the example below.

Lambeth Payroll Schools Term Time Backpay Example

As outlined in the answer to question 2 above, Term Time Leave is paid as a separate element to spinal pay on a monthly basis.

The Term Time Backpay calculation is based on an enhancement percentage applied to the Term Time Leave payments made to individuals between January 2015 to March 2020. These factors are determined by an individual’s leave entitlement as shown below.

34 days annual leave (inclusive of Bank holidays) for up to 5 years of service = 14.99%

39 days annual leave (inclusive of Bank holidays) for over 5 years and less than 10 years of service = 17.59%

42 days annual leave (inclusive of Bank holidays) for 10 years of service and over = 19.20%

The total for each month a staff member was a TTO worker in the qualifying period is added up to give the amount that is stated on a personal offer letter/ COT3. Staff can check their payslips to check the amount (‘Term Time Leave’ on payslip, see answer to question 2 above) that one of the three percentages is being applied to.

St Bernadette’s and St Bede’s

The above percentages differ for staff working within St Bernadette’s and St Bede’s school. The enhancement percentages applied to the Term Time payments are based upon the following percentages.

28 days annual leave (inclusive of Bank holidays) for up to 5 years of service = 12.03%

33 days annual leave (inclusive of Bank holidays) for over 5 years of service = 14.49%

External Payroll Provider Schools

For schools with external payroll providers, they may have used a slightly different formula to calculate your entitlement as staff’s Term Time Leave may not be paid separately to spinal pay. If you have any queries concerning your payment it is best for you to discuss this with your School Business Manager.
