Ownership and leasing
Once a new parklet has been approved by the council, the parklet will be owned and maintained by the business that has applied for a parklet.
The Parklet Owner will be responsible for the design, manufacture, installation and ongoing maintenance of the parklet. They will also need to provide soil and plants to fill any planters.
The Parklet Owner will be responsible for any relationships with leasing organisations.
Insurance and licencing
If the parklet is to be used for trading purposes, you will also need to apply for a pavement or tables and chairs licence. Proof of licences to be provided by the business to the council.
you will need to source and purchase public liability insurance (minimum £5 million) and provide proof of this to the council.
