On street Dockless e‑cycle and e‑scooter bays
As part of our Kerbside Strategy, we have made the commitment to have a Borough wide network of bike hire locations, no more than 5 minutes’ walk from every household in Lambeth.
Lambeth currently has a network of around 240 designated dockless parking bays for rental e-bikes and scooters.
These bays are all located in the kerbside – the space at the side of the road typically used for car parking. This is in order to keep our pavements free of any clutter that could be an accessibility issue, in line with our Inclusive Design Principle.
There are plans to install more kerbside bays for dockless cycles and e-scooters this year to increase the availability and density of bays across the borough and reduce instances of inappropriate parking.
These dockless e-scooters and e-bikes across Lambeth help to provide more sustainable travel options.
A network of electrically assisted rental bikes and scooters are of particular benefit to residents who do not own a car, those who have lower levels of access to public transport and for residents who live in steeper areas.
