In early 2024, Lambeth installed a large batch of new parking bays meaning that there are now 240 designated bays borough-wide where you can begin or end your journey. These bays are shared between rental e-scooters and e-bikes. See below for a map of the bay locations across the borough.
The rules around parking of rental dockless cycles changed in Lambeth in February 2024. Rental e-bikes can only be permitted to be park within a designated bay to ensure that footways are clear for all users.

Supporting dockless cycle hire in Lambeth
Transport accounts for a significant proportion of the borough’s CO2 emissions and traffic reduction is required to deliver change in the context of the climate emergency. The adopted Climate Action Plan 2022 sets out a range of key objectives that will be required to remove CO2 emissions by 2030, including the necessity to reduce motor vehicle traffic in Lambeth by 27% over that period.
The expansion across the whole borough is one of the objectives of Lambeth’s Kerbside Strategy, enabling a greater quantity of active travel trips. The provision of in-carriageway spaces for these rental vehicles will also help to tackle footway-related barriers that residents face due to inappropriate parking.
Expanding dockless mobility options across Lambeth will help to provide a greater provision of sustainable travel options. A network of electrically assisted bikes will be of particular benefit to residents who do not own a car, those who have lower levels of access to public transport and for residents who live in steeper areas.
