Apply for a junior school place for 2024-2025

Use this guide to help you when applying for a junior school place.

Before you apply

It's important to know how the junior school transfer process works and what you need to do and when.

Our starting junior school in Lambeth 2024/25 booklet contains full information about the admissions process and the admission criteria for Lambeth's junior schools.

It is strongly advised that you visit the schools that you wish to apply for, so please contact the schools for information about their open days. You may also wish to look at a school's Ofsted report.

Children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), you'll need to apply for a junior school place in a different way.

On our SEND Local Offer section you can read about choosing and applying for a school for a child with an ECHP.

Applying for a school place using the eAdmissions website when your child has an EHCP will not be valid and your child may miss out on a school place.

If you don't live in Lambeth

If you live in a different borough but want to send your child to a school in Lambeth, please apply through your home council's website so that you see information for your borough. Alternatively, you can complete their paper application form.

Applying for schools in a different borough

If you live in Lambeth and want to apply for a school in a different borough, you'll still need to apply through the Lambeth school admissions team and follow the application process in this guide.

Find the school admissions details for neighbouring boroughs, and apply for a school place in another borough.
