Modified Article 4 direction withdrawing Class MA permitted development rights in the London Plan Central Activities Zone as it relates to Lambeth

The modified Article 4 Direction applies to selected areas within the London Plan Central Activities Zone as it relates to Lambeth and came into force on 28 October 2022. 

The area covered by the direction is shown on the maps below.

You can inspect a hard copy of the modified Article 4 Direction, the direction from the Secretary of State modifying the Article 4 Direction, and maps defining the parts of the CAZ to which the modified Article 4 Direction applies by sending an email to planningpolicy@lambeth.gov.uk and arranging a time to view them at Lambeth Civic Centre, 6 Brixton Hill, London, SW2 1EG between 9 30 am and 4 30 pm Mondays to Fridays.

If your property falls within the area covered by the modified Article 4 Direction, you will need to apply for planning permission if you wish to propose a change of use from Commercial, Business and Service uses (Use Class E) to residential (Use Class C3).
