What is the appeal process?

The appeal process lets the Planning Inspectorate consider all the material planning considerations that are relevant to the case, and from all parties, including from the local planning authority, the applicant and from those who might have made representations on the application.

On 21 March 2023, the Planning Inspectorate confirmed that a valid appeal has been received and the start of the appeal process had commenced. 

The appeal is due to be heard at a public inquiry starting at 10:00am on 4 July 2023. The inquiry is expected to run for 7 days however, the duration is not fixed and will depend on how the evidence emerges.

An appointed inspector will consider the appeal and prepare a report and recommendation, for determination.
