Proposed Clapham zone 'L' CPZ extension - The Paddocks

Charting the history of the proposed Clapham South zone L’ CPZ extension.

18 March to 8 April 2022 — Proposed CPZ Statutory Consultation

We are proposing to extend the Clapham South (Zone L) Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) and introduce Permit Holders Only Parking Past This Point (PHOPTP) into the area informally known as “The Paddocks” on the south-eastern side of Clapham Common South Side.

This CPZ extension is proposed in response to residents’ requests to remove obstructive non-resident parking and the council is carrying out this statutory consultation to seek your views on these proposals.

As an extension of the existing Zone L CPZ, it is proposed that the PHOPTP parking area will operate Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.

What are the plans?

How can I give my views?

A notice of the council’s intentions to introduce these measures will be published in a local newspaper (South London Press), the London Gazette and on the council website.

Representations against the proposals must be made in writing to:

Parking Design
Resident Services
P.O. Box 734
Winchester
S023 5DG

Or, by email to cpzconsultation@lambeth.gov.uk quoting the reference, “The Paddocks” by no later than 8 April 2022. Objections must relate only to the elements of the scheme that are subject to this statutory consultation.

All representations along with Officers’ comments and recommendations will be presented in a final report to be considered by the council. This report will set out whether the council will introduce the proposals. The council is required to give weight to the nature and content of representations and not necessarily the quantity. Therefore, the reasons behind your representation are important to us.

If you have any enquiries, please telephone Lambeth Council’s Parking Design Team on 020 7926 6799 or email at cpzconsultation@lambeth.gov.uk.

A copy of each of the Orders and other documents giving detailed particulars about them (including maps) are available for inspection online and by appointment at the offices of Lambeth Council's Parking and Enforcement Group (Resident Services), 3rd Floor, Civic Centre, 6 Brixton Hill, London SW2 1EG, between 9.30am and 4.30pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except on bank/public holidays).

A copy of the Orders and related documents are also available on request, by email to trafficorders@lambeth.gov.uk or by telephoning 020 7926 0179 to arrange an inspection.

What happens next?

The feedback to the consultation along with officers’ recommendations will be presented in a report to the Cabinet Members for Sustainable Transport, Environment and Clean Air of the Council. Once a decision is made you will be informed accordingly.
