  • the number of rewilding projects/initiatives in your borough for 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018 you are aware of not on land managed by the local authority.
  • are there any green space management practices carried out by the local authority, not considered rewilding, but have been implemented for either improvements to biodiversity or climate change response, Eeg. amenity grass to meadow/long grass, new green infrastructure, removal/change of grounds maintenance tasks etc

Our response

  • practices that currently take place include areas of grassland left permanently uncut; meadow areas subject to an annual cut and collect; creation of new wildflower meadows; de-paving and conversion to soft landscaping; creation of new scrub islands; creation of wildlife areas; mowing of leaves in situ on grassland rather than removal; and the Lambeth Bee Roads project to convert all highway verges to wildflower meadows.
