Your questions
- I would like to know how many council tenants in the Lambeth Borough has requested to downsize their property in the pass 10 years
- and how many tenants the council have moved based on the above request.
Our response
- we only hold data going back to November 2013, which is when our current housing allocation scheme was introduced. Tenants do not need to formerly request to downsize. Tenants who are eligible to bid for a property smaller than their current home are automatically awarded Band A priority.
- There are currently 1,714 transfer applicants in this category. However, they are not all actively seeking to move somewhere smaller. There are currently 224 people eligible to bid for a smaller property with Band A priority who have placed a bid in the last 12 months.
- from 1 December 2013 to January 2021, a total of 511 have transferred to a smaller property.
