Exempt accommodation

Your requests

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from the council:

  1. the number of households within the borough that are in exempt accommodation for each year since 2016
  2. a breakdown of commissioned vs non-commissioned exempt accommodation in the borough> If information relating to (b) is not held, how many of the above households are in exempt accommodation commissioned by the council
  3. the cost of exempt accommodation in the borough for each year since 2016
  4. the names of the providers of exempt accommodation within the borough if it is not possible to provide the information requested due to the information exceeding the cost of compliance limits identified in Section 12, please provide advice and assistance, under the Section 16 obligations of the Act, as to how I can refine my request.
  5. if you can identify any ways that my request could be refined please provide further advice and assistance to indicate this.

  • 10-112 Landor Road, London, SW99NT; 106 Railton Road, London, SE24 0JY
  • Ekaya Housing – 59-63 Barrington Road, London, SW9 7JG
  • Hillyard Street (Evolve Housing & Support) – 1 Pembury Close, London, SW9 0PL2.

2. This table shows the number of households who are receiving Housing Benefit for exempt accommodation on the 1st May each year.  I am unable, within the timescales to provide full year data as that would require a report for each day of the year and then cross comparisons. I am also unable to provide data on any household in exempt accommodation but not awarded Housing Benefit.

4. I am unable to provide details of all exempt accommodation providers in the borough, only those known to Housing Benefit.
