- I understand that, for Windrush Day 2021, Lambeth council has commissioned a new Windrush Anthem, a Windrush Emblem and a community arts and activities pack.
- Please confirm how much money Lambeth council has budgeted and so far spent, on these activities.
Our response
- The overall budget was £25,000 The budget breakdown is as follows:
- Lambeth Elevate - Schools Officer to work across all schools and manage teacher steering group £2,500
- Pegasus Opera - payment towards the Windrush Anthem project £1,500
- Lambeth Libraries - payment towards their Windrush programme £2,000
- The Council then contacted Brixton Project for a total of £16,560, of which this breaks down into:
- Social Media Campaign - content creation and management of all platforms and all PR and Comms £5750
- School Resource - working with Elevate to bring the schools learning resources together and create pack £3650
- Artist Commission and creation of Activity Pack - design and creation and other on the day activations £4400
- Project Management, Stakeholder Management and event management fee £2760 The outstanding amount is £2440 of which we have allocated the following:
- Windrush 2022 and beyond - Brixton Project will be engaged to do a scoping and vision document for how Lambeth Windrush Programme can be developed - £1,350.
- Black History Month - further engagement with Pegasus Opera to work with communities and schools with the Windrush Anthem or C-19 commemoration community event to acknowledge lives lost in the Windrush community - £1000.
Expenses incurred for postage and stationary - £45.
