The Community Works team is focused on recruiting locally, primarily targeting employees living in within the borough of Lambeth.
Areas of work
Home Improvement Agency (HIA) minor repairs
Such as:
- grab rails
- shower repairs
- shower seats
- stair rails
- step repairs
- anti-slip coverings.
Home Improvement Agency (HIA) major repairs
Such as:
- wetroom shower bathrooms
- ramp installation
- door widening
- installation of hoists
- disabled adaptation conversions.
Communal Areas
Working closely with housing officers, surveyors and safety advisors the team’s work on shared spaces around blocks of flats.
These include:
- reception areas
- stairwells and walkways along with communal drains
- communal guttering and downpipes.
They also maintain:
- paths
- fencing
- bollards
- communal doors and windows
and carry out patch plastering and patch painting for example to cover graffiti, repairs to soil stacks and bin chutes.
Information is reported electronically in real time, so team members are always aware of each job’s status, including appointment date and completion information.
All our operatives are trained to deliver a respectful, polite and helpful resident-centred service.
