Children with ASD at Crown Lane have the opportunity to learn alongside their mainstream peers. Programmes and opportunities are carefully planned according to the needs of each individual child.
The starting point is working with the child’s strengths, breaking down skills into small components, so that learning is meaningful and helps the child generalise into other situations. This builds the child’s confidence and self -esteem. The children in the mainstream school also benefit, as they learn first -hand about children who have a different way of looking at the world. This builds understanding which has a long lasting impact for their lives.
Admission to the Resource Base will be according to the following objectives and admissions criteria; all pupils admitted to the Base will have an EHC plan with a primary need of ASD and admission to the Base will be through the Lambeth SEND Team.
