The Carers' Hub team are here to support unpaid carers living in Lambeth, or caring for someone living in the Borough. A young carer is anyone aged 5 to 21 who helps look after a family member or friend, who has an illness or condition. This might be a physical illness; mental illness; learning disability; or some form of addiction.
A young carer might ‘care’ in all sorts of ways, be it through personal care, help around the home, or by providing emotional support. No matter your caring role, however big or small, we are here to help. The following are some of the services we offer,
• Wellbeing calls to check in with adult carers and with young carers and their families
• A monthly programme for adult carers of peer support groups, social activities and training
• Virtual catch ups and group activities for Young Carers and Young Adult Carers, to connect, check in and have fun together
• Homework Club where young carers, aged 11 to 16, can complete their homework in a quiet and supportive environment
Carers can self-refer or professionals can refer, please contact us for more details.
