Peter Solari: The Decisive Moment

Solari’s photographic series is inspired by the act of travelling through environments, observing, recording and being inspired by the variety of life and landscape around us. The term ‘Decisive Moment’ (Cartier-Bresson) reverberates with his own practice, the creative moment when one intuitively decides to capture an image, making that decision to stop and record.

Solari says: “For me, this is the moment that has an emotional impact and ability to draw the viewer in, either through a recognition of the scene they are witnessing or in bringing something new to their consciousness”.

This exhibition explores the life and landscapes of London over the past five years, although there are also images from Solari’s recent trip to Chennai in India and a few other locations.
