Love, Lust and Liberation: How Romance fiction is changing? with Fee Mak, Sareeta Domingo, Nadia El-Fassi and Taylor-Dior Rumble

Romance fiction is evolving beyond traditional tropes to explore identity, empowerment and unconventional love. This panel will discuss how modern love stories reflect cultural shifts, challenge stereotypes and give agency to diverse characters.

Fee Mak is a BBC Radio 1Xtra Radio Presenter. She is an avid reader who loves to get lost in a book (the good, bad n ugly) and shares her love on her Instagram account High Shelf Esteem. As well as a radio presenter, Fee hosts at literary festivals talking to as wide a range of readers and writers as possible. 

Sareeta Domingo is an author, creator, editor and contributing writer of romantic fiction anthology Who’s Loving You. She was shortlisted for the Diverse Book Awards and has also written numerous erotic short stories. She has contributed to publications including, iNews, gal-dem, Black Ballad, Stylist and Token Magazine and works as Editorial Director at Trapeze Books. Her new novel is Possibility.

Nadia El-Fassi is an author of spicy romance and fantasy novels. They have an addiction to iced coffee, period dramas, buying D&D dice and watching horror movies. They work as an Editor in science fiction and fantasy publishing. Best Hex Ever is their debut novel.

Taylor-Dior Rumble is a writer, born and raised in south-east London. She started her journalism career at BBC News at the age of 18 and has since gone on to produce and cover stories ranging from the politics of Black hair to colourism in Hollywood. The Situationship is her debut novel and was published to widespread critical acclaim.
