Flood risk assessment

These flood risk assessment documents form part of the plan to reduce flood risk in Lambeth.

Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRA)

As a Lead Local Flood Authority, we have a statutory duty to develop, maintain, apply, and monitor a strategy for local flood risk management.

  • Lambeth Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS)(PDF 3MB) - The strategy will inform you of our approach to managing flood risk from local sources in both short and longer term, with proposals for actions to help manage the risk.
  • LFRMS Action Plan (PDF 97KB) - the action plan supports the LFRA, this file Includes Information relating to the measures/schemes for each action, such as the measures, delivery, programme, funding & outcomes of each action plan.
  • LFRMS Residents' Guide (PDF 787KB) - the guide provides information to residents in Lambeth on local flood risk, as well as the management of this by the council and other authorities. It shows how residents can participate and take forward measures to reduce the risk of their own properties and local community.

Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA)

The Strategic Flood Risk Assessment is to inform policies regarding realistic approaches to managing flood risk in accordance with the NPPF (National Planning Policy Framework) and support guidance.

Surface Water Management Plan (SWMP)

The Surface Water Management Plan is a useful tool used for planning the delivery of actions to manage flood risk, this also includes identifying and assessing the risks of surface water flooding and making the right investment decisions. They provide an important evidence base for the development of local flood risk management strategies.

Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment (PFRA)

The Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment provides a summary of significant flood risk on readily available information and assess both the probability and consequences of past and future flooding. Its scope is to consider the flooding from; surface runoff, groundwater, sewers and ordinary watercourses and any interaction these have with main rivers and the sea.
