Currently, vaccines are available to those who work directly with people in any of the nine priority groups that the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation have identified for vaccination in Phase one of the vaccination programme.
We have been working with health and social care providers across the borough to identify staff who are eligible.
Who is eligible
- Vaccination is available for people who are working directly to support people of any age that are clinically vulnerable.
- The location that you provide support in does not affect your eligibility, for example your organisation could provide care in people’s own homes, day centres, care homes for working age adults or supported housing.
- Many different types of organisation provide social care, as long as a staff member meets the other criteria, the type of organisation does not affect their eligibility.
Get in contact with the local NHS if you believe you are eligible but have not been invited to get a vaccine
If you have not been contacted, but think that you, some of your staff or regular volunteers may be eligible, please email sel.staffcovidvacc@nhs.net with your details and the team will contact you to arrange a convenient appointment date and time within 3 working days.
You can get a vaccine if you are a personal assistant
If you are paid to provide care to individuals living in Lambeth as a Personal Assistant (PA) then you qualify for vaccination as you are a frontline health and social care worker.
You can book a vaccine on the National Booking System, this will allow you to book your appointment as a convenient location.
When booking, confirm that you are a health and social care worker. You musttake identification or an eligibility letter with you when you attend your vaccination appointment. If you need an eligibility letter or you are not able to use the National Booking System please contact our adult social care team by emailing Anne-Marie Jones: amjones@lambeth.gov.uk
Other support is available to personal assistants, including regular testing and access to PPE.
You can get a vaccine if you are an informal carer
Vaccinations are also now available to those providing informal care. There are two groups of eligible carers:
If you are in receipt of carers’ allowance you can book your vaccination on the National Booking System online or by calling 119.
If you are registered with a GP as a carer the practice will invite you to book a vaccine.
If you are not registered as a carer with your GP, you should contact your GP surgery by phone or email (or other contact routes as available) to inform them that you are a carer.
