Our Civic Centre has been closed due to Covid-19 and payment kiosks have been unavailable. With the kiosks closed and given other payment routes available, we saw this as an opportunity to direct customers towards payment methods that would be more convenient, whilst minimising the risk of infection. It is proposed to remove the three payment kiosks in the Civic Centre.
The experience of using payment kiosks can involve a fair amount of travel and long queuing times, sometimes outside in poor weather. Many customers find the kiosks difficult to use, making for a bad experience. This could be made worse during Covid-19 due to the need for social distancing and for customers to touch the payment kiosks in order to use them.
There are many ways of making payments to the council from your own home, including direct debit, online or via the telephone. If you wish to make payments by cash or card in person, you can pay your bill at your local Post Office, bank, building society or at any local shop displaying the PayPoint logo.
There are hundreds of PayPoint outlets, including 10 within a 5 minutes’ walk of the Civic Centre, and the one nearest to you is probably just around your corner. Find your local PayPoint outlet
