Lambeth Council wants to know what your thoughts are on the idea of a Low Traffic Neighbourhood.

Background

Transport for London (TfL) are consulting on proposals to change the layout of the A23 and this has the potential to affect traffic on adjacent local roads unless we look at making changes to the streets we manage.

What are the benefits?

The benefits of a Low Traffic Neighbourhood include improvements in local air quality, a reduction in collisions and making the area better for walking and cycling.

What is the problem?

We know that the majority of traffic using local streets in Streatham Hill is 'through traffic' rather than people making local journeys. One of the aims of the Low Traffic Neighbourhood is to keep access for local drivers but prevent through traffic using the area as a short cut.

We need your comments and local knowledge so we can combine that with the traffic data we have to help us design proposals that we will share with you in autumn 2020.
