We want to hear your views on our proposed cycle hangar locations in Clapham Common Ward. The consultation runs from 12 October until 26 October 2020 Please share your view with us by completing our survey.
Consultation details
Following the success of previously installed hangars across Lambeth and the need to provide residents with alternative travel options to aid social distancing, we are proposing to install five new hangars in the Clapham Common Ward.
A cycle hangar is cylindrical-like containers with a gas sprung locking door to ensure quiet operation and metal bike hoops inside to which one can lock a bike. Each hangar has the capacity to hold six bikes.
Lambeth has already installed over 220 secure cycle hangars, however, to meet growing demand for secure cycle parking, we are proposing to double the number of hangars which will provide over 1000 bike hangar spaces by 2022
We are consulting residents on seven potential locations of which we will choose five to install a hangar.
Once the consultation has ended, we will review resident feedback to gauge the most appropriate locations with the intention of installing the hangars in the first quarter of 2021.
