We are keen to hear your priorities for making Waterloo a better place to live, work, visit and enjoy.

Since 2010 the Government has cut the money it gives Lambeth Council by 56%. This is the biggest financial challenge Lambeth has ever faced, and it comes at a time of increasingly high demand for our key services, such as older people and social care, children’s services and temporary accommodation for people who are homeless.

One new source of income for the Bishop’s ward area is the tax paid by developers when they develop new offices and housing in the area. This is called the Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL) and it can be used to fund local improvements.

At a time when finances are stretched, it is critical that the Council invests wisely helping to tackle inequality, looking at the evidence and the priorities of residents. We would really like to hear your suggestions to help guide future spend in these areas.

How to find out more about your area

Find out more information about the area by visiting the Local Data Platform and reading the Local Area Leaflet following the links below. These provide facts and figures about the area including residents’ views and where projects are planned or underway.

What will happen next

We will review all responses and findings and produce a report which will be published the CLIP in summer 2018. The CLIP will then be used by the Council to inform future investment decisions in the Waterloo CLIP area (Bishop’s ward).
