Apply for a personal licence to sell alcohol

A personal licence allows individuals to supply alcohol where a premises licence or a temporary event notice is in force.

Change the photograph on your personal licence

You do not have to update your photo, but you may run into difficulties if you no longer resemble the photograph printed on your personal licence. So, we strongly recommend that you get your photo updated at least every 10 years, as you would do under the requirements of newer driving licences and passports.

As with any change to a personal licence, this will incur a £10.50 administration fee. You need only pay a single fee if making multiple changes at the same time, such as a name or address change.

Where relevant, please include in or enclose with your letter:

  • your full name
  • your full address
  • new photographs (at least one of which should be endorsed)
  • your old personal licence (both the card part and paper part)
  • a fee of £10.50 (please make cheques payable to 'London Borough of Lambeth)
  • daytime contact details in case we need to get in touch with you.

Post your application, payment and the required documents to Licensing. For contact details, see Where to send completed forms or letters.
