At Cowley Road we converted 340 metres square of short grass into a relatively low, rich habitat for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. We did this in spring 2023 by removing the grass and installing a pictorial meadow turf designed to grow to a low-medium height.
Flowers you will find here include a mixture of wildflowers including primrose, birds foot trefoil, campions, and self-heal, along with staples of the country garden such as lamb's ears, stonecrop, and thyme.
We are immensely grateful to residents for supporting this new habitat.
