Knatchbull Road Bee Road

Bee Road roundabout outside Myatt's Fields Park on Knatchbull Road

Extending the pollinator-friendly habitat out from the wildflower meadows and gardens of Myatts Field Park, Knatchbull Road roundabout has had its own Bee Roads treatment.

Working through the horticultural team at Myatts Field Park Project, roundabout was cleared of grass and spread with a layer of low-fertility soil over a biodegradable cardboard mulch. A low-growing wildflower turf now covers the sloping edges, while the central area was seeded with a perennial mix to provide a long-lasting flowering season.

Flowers to look out for here include thyme, kidney vetch, fox and cubs, marjoram and chamomile.
