Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Lambeth Council is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non compliance with the accessibility regulations:

  • The Lambeth logo is missing alternative text. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content) and 2.4.4 link purpose (in context). We plan to add text alternatives for all images by December 2020.
  • There is low contrast on the on the arrows for switching months on the calendar date picker. This is also on the days of the week text when choosing a day and timeslot for an appointment. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.3 contrast (minimum). We plan to find an alternative to this by December 2020.
  • There are missing form labels on some fields. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 Non-Text Content, 1.3.1 Info and Relationships, 2.4.6 Headings and Labels, and 3.3.2 Labels and Instructions. We plan to have these items amended by December 2020.
  • There is a missing fieldset on some radio button questions. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships, 2.4.6 Headings and Labels, and 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions. Our target date for these changes is December 2020.
  • Some form labels are orphaned. An incorrectly associated label does not provide functionality or information about the form control to the user. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions. We plan to have these items amended by December 2020.
  • Some pages have a skipped heading level. There is a heading level 1, followed by a heading level 3. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criteria 2.4.6 headings and labels. We plan to have these items amended by December 2020.
  • You can’t navigate to choose appointment times using only a keyboard. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.1.1 Keyboard. This is a larger challenge as it’s associated with the calendar, we plan to fix this by February 2021.
