This policy explains how the information we collect about you is used and your rights in relation to that information.

How the council uses your payment information

We take your payment information in order to provide council services to you and for collection of lawful charges, such as council tax and business rates.

Your information will be held on our Income Management system. Only staff and third parties who are entitled to see the information, including our payment provider Access Pay360, have access to it and they may only use it for the purposes stated.

We have strict security measures in place to prevent the alteration, loss or misuse of your payment information on our systems and operate to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).

  • Credit/debit card details
  • Email address
  • Name
  • Address

Sharing Information

  • We will share payment information with other council departments and third parties in order to recover debt, allocate payment to accounts, or for provision of a service.
  • The information you give us may be used to maintain and improve the services which we deliver, this includes developing and upgrading the systems which we use to process your information.
  • We may also share information with the council’s auditors, government departments or the police in order to protect public funds and detect/protect against fraud.

Rights
